Here Are the Winners of the 2020 James Beard Foundation Media Awards

Congrats! Photo: Eugene Galdones/JBF

Today, the James Beard Foundation held its media awards under quarantine. Presumably, champagne will be drunk, suits will be worn to the living-room galas, and medals will eventually be shared via social media. Among the morning’s winners are are Toni Tipton-Martin for her seminal Jubilee: Recipes From Two Centuries of African American Cooking, Netflix’s Las Crónicas del Taco (Taco Chronicles), and New York Times critic Pete Wells for the Craig Claiborne Distinguished Restaurant Review Award. Los Angeles publication L.A. Taco, a must-read for anyone interested in the city, won the Emerging Voice award, and Jancis Robinson is now a member of the Cookbook Hall of Fame. Check out the full list below, and tune back in on September 25 when, if nothing changes, the chef, bartender, and restaurant awards will be given out.
