Over the weekend, as part of its Irishman promo efforts, Netflix took over parts of Little Italy, “de-aging” the neighborhood to a version of itself from 1975, stocking the neighborhood with vintage newspapers, plenty of cannoli, and a vintage Chevy Bel Air. While Grub Street has no particular interest in promoting a new film — though we hear it’s good! — we will nevertheless always welcome the opportunity to revel in the imagined nostalgia for old New York. Here’s what the scene looked like.
