It wouldn’t be the end of the year in the restaurant world without Esquire’s list of the best new restaurants in America, which the men’s magazine debuted today. Food and drinks editor Jeff Gordinier gave a nod to a handful of New York City restaurants, including Atomix and Don Angie, and he seems to have sided with Pete Wells on the greatness of Misi, even dubbing chef and co-owner Missy Robbins Chef of the Year.

Jorge Riera gets a shout-out as Wine Guru of the Year for his fantastic natural wine collection at Frenchette, and outside the city, Gordinier gave a thumbs up to The DeBruce in Livingston Manor, NY, and Karenderya, a Filipino spot in Nyack, NY.
