Phoenix-based chef Chris Bianco is often credited as America’s best pizza-maker, and it’s rare for him to make an appearance in New York. But to celebrate the imminent release of his cookbook, Bianco: Pizza, Pasta, and Other Food I Like, he’s joining Sessanta owner John McDonald and chef Adam Leonti in their Soho kitchen on July 26. The prix-fixe menu — which includes focaccia with figs and Montasio cheese, hand-rolled cavatelli, and cacciatore-style chicken, though sadly no pizza — costs $150, and reservations are available now.

Bianco and McDonald go way back. “I have been friends with Chris for over 20 years,” McDonald says. “He’s from New York and made his life in Phoenix; I am from Phoenix and made mine in New York.” Bianco agrees: “John is an old friend, and the best part of my life is always finding excuses to cook with your friends who you admire and respect.” He adds, “Find more time doing more things with people you like.”
