Trump’s Steak Order Is Even Worse Than You Thought

This weekend, Donald Trump ate his first dinner out in Washington, D.C., since becoming president — at his “regular table” at the BLT Steakhouse located inside his own hotel, just five minutes from the White House. The administration apparently tried keeping the meal a secret, but Independent Journal Review’s Benny Johnson got tipped off, booked a nearby table, and spent the next four hours observing his dining habits.

It sounds like it was a pretty run-of-the-mill Trump dinner — a table full of family, Trump telling a patron she had “great skin,” and him pressing a $100 bill into the hand of the busboy. But there’s also this nugget, a firsthand report Johnson got from Trump’s server:

“The President ordered a well-done steak. An aged New York strip. He ate it with catsup as he always does. The sides and appetizers on the table were shared. Three jumbo shrimp cocktails were delivered before the meal. At one point, the President looked at his watch and remarked, ‘They are filming Saturday Night Live right now. Can’t wait to see what they are gonna do to me this week.’ It was hard to serve him because he is so funny and relaxed, it makes you laugh.”

Ketchup on a burnt $54 steak is a travesty, but not especially surprising. The real story here might be this Bacon Tower that BLT Steakhouse is offering as a starter:
