Twitter Troll Deletes Account After Getting Owned by Wendy’s

If Wendy’s New Year’s resolution was to clap back at smart-asses on Twitter, the fast-food chain is off to a good start. It tweeted an otherwise unremarkable reminder back on December 30 that, like plenty of burger chains these days, it serves “fresh, never frozen” beef — a claim most people have been aware of since forever. Twitter user @NHride still has some doubts, though, and yesterday decided to vocalize them as sort of a #pizzagate-style conspiracy theory.

“@Wendys your beef is frozen and we all know it,” the person proclaimed. “Y’all know we laugh at your slogan ‘fresh, never frozen’ right? Like you’re really a joke.” Such contempt isn’t in the New Year’s spirit, and Wendy’s social-media manager understandably just was not having it. It’s not the first time the chain’s account has owned trolls, sometimes even brutally, but by the time it was done with @NHride, who also goes by “Thuggy-D,” the destruction was total enough that the individual quietly deleted their account. Wendy’s tried polite chastising at first (“You’re wrong, we’ve only ever used fresh beef since we were founded in 1969”). But this just resulted in more sass. “So you deliver it raw on a hot truck?” Thuggy-D snarked, eliciting this hilarious reply:

But Thuggy-D didn’t shut up — the individual proceeded to tweet a dig about how “@McDonalds got you guys beat with dope ass breakfast,” which promptly received this grade-A, never-frozen burn from Wendy’s:

Very well done.
