This Sunday, January 8, as part of Bon Appétit’s new fundraising series, “Family Meal,” Café Altro Paradiso will host a standing cocktail party and Latin-themed brunch from 12 to 2 p.m. The menu won’t feature the restaurant’s usual eggs and bottarga; Ignacio Mattos and his staff will serve a Cuban “porchetta” sandwich, tostones with crème fraîche, and rice and beans. Tickets cost $80, and all proceeds will benefit the Immigrant Justice Corps. Not that you need reminding of the talent here, but here’s Adam Platt’s three-star review of Mattos’s cooking at Flora Bar, just in case.
