
Carnegie Deli served its last pastrami sandwich on December 31, breaking the hearts of its loyal regulars , but the owners don’t seem too sentimental. Their framed, signed photographs of celebrity diners, which could’ve easily been auctioned off, ended up in a plastic bin on the street. While Marian Harper’s daughter is claiming they wanted to “do something nice for people in the neighborhood” and offer free mementos, it’s hard to see the portraits as anything but trash. To make it even more depressing, all the good ones were picked over, leaving an obscure selection of meat-loving C-listers.
