The drink you see is the latest offering on Starbucks so-called “secret menu,”. People like it because it’s a weird color. It looks good on Instagram. But there’s a fly in this (fluorescent purple) ointment: Since Starbucks never officially discusses off-menu items, there’s little consensus about how to make this particular #purpledrink. It likely consists of passion-fruit iced tea, soy milk, vanilla syrup, and blackberries, but as you’ll see below, consistency seems to be an issue, and Instagram is full of a lot of users faking excitement about their not-at-all-#purple drinks:
