Brooklyn’s Acclaimed Ample Hills Will Open a Disney Location

Maybe it's time to plan that next trip to Disney.
Maybe it’s time to plan that next trip to Disney.

This is major. Five years after former screenwriter Brian Smith opened his first Ample Hills Creamery in Prospect Heights, the company will expand outside New York City for the first time — but it won’t just be any old location. The official Star Wars ice cream partner, which just announced a new Manhattan location and has a giant ice-cream factory in the works, will open a location on the BoardWalk at Disney World this spring. Described as a “re-imagined take on the turn-of-the-century ice cream parlor,” the shop will serve Ample Hills signatures like ooey gooey butter cake, coffee toffee coffee, and an exclusive flavor (safe bet that it’s inspired by Frozen?) If it weren’t already clear, this move definitely announces Ample Hills’ arrival in the ice cream big leagues. Watch your back, Ben & Jerry’s.
