Here’s a good reason to check out Industry City’s burgeoning scene: The ever-popular market Smorgasburg will decamp for the food-production hotbed when it makes its annual pilgrimage indoors on October 17. There’s no word yet on which vendors will be setting up shop for the season, so cross your fingers for your favorites, but organizers promise that 40 of the market’s “most popular” (co-founder Eric Demby says it’ll break down to “about 20 cooking and 20 packaged”) will call the 50,000-square-foot space at 241 37th Street in Sunset Park home.

Along with vendors from Brooklyn Flea, Smorgasburg will be there every weekend, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., through March 2016. With the addition of Smorgasburg, this winter is certainly an excellent time to check out Industry City Distillery’s Tasting Room, an outpost of New York’s best taquerias in Taco Mix, or one of the many other producers operating in the Industry City Food Hall.*

*This post has been corrected to show that Taco Mix is in the Industry City Food Hall and not Industry City Distillery’s Tasting Room.
