
And you thought the endlessly looping theme music was bad: A reckless Mister Softee driver tore through a downtown intersection outside a Lower East Side co-op last weekend, apparently on an urgent mission to deliver after-hours magic shells and chocolate nut sundaes. The driver, who has not been arrested, plowed down East Broadway and Clinton Street after 11 p.m. last Friday, hitting multiple vehicles (one witness says six cars and a motorcycle) and ripping through not one but four fences before getting the hell out of there. Luckily, no one was hurt, though someone who drives like this probably shouldn’t also be serving ice cream to kids.
At least one security camera also caught the briefest of glimpses of the runaway truck in the middle of its tear:
