It’s been just about seven months since Wylie Dufresne had to close wd~50, and in that time Dufresne has introduced an acclaimed burger and a new tasting menu at Alder (which includes the much-photographed octopus pancakes), announced he’ll open a new restaurant next year, and even learned just how dicey it can be to order an “iced coffee” in Italy. Meanwhile, Time has been putting together this 15-minute retrospective of wd~50, which manages to cover both the restaurant’s history and its final days, and includes interviews with many of Dufresne’s friends and family members.
