Almost daily, art collector Robert Ellsworth ate a bacon-grilled-cheese sandwich for lunch at Donohue’s, and then returned for a steak dinner, so it’s no wonder that he thought of the waitstaff as family. Two servers, though, were amazed to learn that after the multimillionaire’s recent passing, they ended up in his will — as “Maureen at Donohue’s” and “Maureen-at-Donohue’s Niece Maureen” (Ellsworth never learned their last names) — and were gifted what amounted to a $50,000 posthumous tip. Isn’t that lovely?
