If ever there were customers who deserved to be shamed on social media, it’s these guys: Yesterday, authorities in Anaheim, California, arrested four diners who allegedly left without paying, and then drove right over the waitress who had just served them.
Surveillance footage shows server Maria Uriostegui following the group out to their Volkswagen, after realizing they’d left nothing on the table. “I tapped on the window politely, and I said, ‘Stop. Are you guys not going to pay?’” she said. “I made eye contact with them. They just laughed it off and kept on driving.” An employee who witnessed the incident recalled, “The car was going back and forth, and then it went over her. It’s horrible. It’s a miracle she’s still alive.”
The good news is that Uriostegui is already out of the hospital and back on her feet. And as for the dine-and-dashers: Skipping out on a $45 bill has escalated to $25,000 in bail, and charges of conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon.
