The Big Apple Barbecue Block Party Returns to New York on June 13 and 14

Mark your calendars for June 13 and 14: The 13th annual Big Apple Barbecue Block Party, Danny Meyer’s homage to smoked meat, will pop up in Madison Square Park. This year’s event is set to feature 17 of America’s top pitmasters, including Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q’s Chris Lilly, Hometown Bar-B-Que’s Billy Durney, and the Woodshed Smokehouse’s Tim Love, who is also a partner. (But, notably, not Ed Mitchell.)

While the event is free to attend, the VIP area requires pre-purchased tickets to access — which are on sale now, right here. The FastPass has been discontinued, but new this year is a VIP BigPiggin’ Pass. It costs $275 and includes perks like hand-delivered barbecue samples from the pitmasters, an all-day catered buffet, and free beer.
