February 14 is usually an excuse for restaurants to hand out heart-shaped swag bags at the end of a truffle-laden prix fixe. But this year, San Francisco restaurant Locanda is taking a public-service approach: It’s passing out condoms tomorrow. It’s not generic protection, either: The staff found a custom-condom-maker online and ordered a bunch of “Locondoms,” which the restaurant is proudly touting in its newsletter: “For those not looking for the added responsibility of offspring, the Locanda team has once again swept in to save the day.”

Of course, as something of a second public service, chef-owner Craig Stoll says the menu will nevertheless be full of “sexy foods” à la carte, even, instead of prix fixe. Any leftovers get wrapped up, as it were, along with a to-go Locondom. According to Stoll, “It’s so cheesy how ladies are given a rose at a restaurant on Valentine’s Day. This is our answer to that.”
