It’s been quite a week for Danny Meyer: After increasing his wealth by hundreds of millions on Shake Shack’s first day of public trading, he’s announced that he’s opening a bar in Chelsea. Porchlight, which will reside on the ground floor of the Waterfront New York Building on the corner of 28th Street and Eleventh Avenue, sounds like it’ll be a cross between a casual neighborhood bar and a PDT-like place to get ambitious cocktails.

Meyer’s working closely with his Blue Smoke team, so the bar will have a Southern bent, with drinks like Sazerac, Hurricane, and whiskey and cola. And there will be some food, of course: Blue Smoke chef Jean-Paul Bourgeois is in charge of bar snacks. It’s scheduled to open in mid-February, right before Meyer announces that he’s running for mayor of New York. (He’d totally win.)
