Somebody appears to be menacing Berkeley’s vegan population by depositing decapitated boar heads in close proximity to their favorite meatless eateries. The Chronicle reports that two body parts showed up yesterday, neck skin and all, outside two places. At Herbivore, the body part was “perched on top of a newsstand across the street, still bloody and with bits of flesh attached.”
By the time police arrived, the pig head had mysteriously vanished, but Anna Abramson noticed the one above, perched on a garbage can this time, as she walked past Flaco’s, another vegetarian place. “It had almost a wet-looking snout. It really just looked like a wild animal,” she told CBS SF. Police aren’t sure if it was two separate heads or the same head twice, moved surreptitiously between the two locations, and honestly, it sounds like they don’t know what the hell to make of it yet. Is this some anti-PETA protester maniac, or do they just have a disgruntled cold-cuts fan on their hands?
