It was just before Thanksgiving of last year that Bonnie Slotnick, the proprietor and lone employee of her namesake cookbook store, was informed by her West Village landlord that her lease would not be renewed. The outpouring of support for the shop, which is frequented by Ruth Reichl and April Bloomfield, was near instant, and now Slotnick confirms she has signed a lease on a new space at 28 East 2nd Street. Her new landlords, who are the children of late Times editor Eden Ross Lipson, reached out to her after reading about the eviction. The space is larger, Slotnick says, and she anticipates an opening date of February 1. “I want to have my one store,” she told us last year. “I want to be there. I am the store and the store is me.”
