The attention given to Wylie Dufresne’s restaurant wd~50, which closed last month after 11 trailblazing years, has been totally warranted — just take a look at these mash notes penned by his peers to get a sense of the chef’s broader influence on the culinary world. In terms of long good-byes, we’d much rather watch a four-hour film on the restaurant’s corned duck on rye than any number of Ferran Adrià’s solipsistic musings on elBulli’s legacy, and so here’s a teaser for Time magazine’s The Last Days of wd~50, which comes out early next year.
