When not gorging on churn-worthy foodstuffs baby food or jugs of Real Lemon, competitive eater Furious Pete still has to, you know, eat. Here he is at chef Brian Massie’s Citizens in Las Vegas, working his way through 24 pretty healthy-size sliders. It’s cute that the restaurant usually conceives of this as a 24-minute challenge, but Furious Pete dispenses with it in 19 and change, with enough time to savor the burgers and offer his critique afterwards. There’s a hint of disdain for the “special sauce,” and about the bread he adds: “A lot of those buns were under heat lamps or something like that, because they were really hard.”
