Watch a 14-Year-Old Chef Make the Official Cronut Recipe

Cronut Emperor Dominique Ansel kicked off his first-ever book tour last week, which most certainly means thousands of people across the country are trying the at-home recipe right about now. Though the process for making the recipe has been streamlined for home cooks, it’s still a three-day affair that involves making laminated dough, flavored sugar, ganache, and glaze. The instructions have reportedly thrown some for a loop, but as seen here, home Cronuts are within your grasp. That’s what MasterChef Junior season-one winner Alexander Weiss believes, anyhow. It doesn’t hurt things that the 14-year-old could bang out batches of macarons in less than an hour when he was 12, but given no time to prepare or practice, he pretty much hit this out of the park.
