Late Friday, the ever-coy Danny Bowien tweeted and posted to Instagram the picture you see before you: confirmation that Mission Chinese Food will reopen in the now-former Rosette space at 171 East Broadway. Per Bowien’s tweet, Mission Chinese — which has lived on as a string of glorified pop-ups since the original location closed for good last fall — could be open this year.

Bowien tells the Times that the new restaurant will have 74 seats plus a private dining room, and that he’s only planning “minor changes” to the space, which should expedite the opening. He also says he’ll go before the Community Board tonight to apply for a liquor license.
