Former Tabla and North End Grill chef Floyd Cardoz, who left his post at the latter restaurant this past spring to focus on personal projects and a cookbook, has been appointed chef and partner at a soon-to-open Tribeca restaurant called White Street. Details are few as of now, but the Times describes the menu as “American with global touches” and reports it will open “by the fall,” which would seem to overlap with the projected opening of Dan Abrams, Dave Zinczenko, and Christine Cole’s new restaurant in the old Churrascaria Tribeca space. The partners were rumored to be “in talks with some of the city’s top chefs;” Cardoz certainly fits that bill. [NYT, Related]
