Motorino chef and owner Mathieu Palombino has closed Chez Jef, his interim pop-up in the old Bowery Diner space that served, with its Gallic menu of country pâté and steak frites, as a taste of things to come: The restaurant at the base of the New Museum is coming back as a “full-blown French bistro” this September, complete with a comprehensive menu of standards, a wine list of around 50 bottles, and a charcuterie chef imported directly from France. Palombino tells Eater the new restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. [Eater NY, Related]
