ReBar Owner Promises $1 Million Restitution for Defrauded Couples

Restaurateur Jason Stevens yesterday pleaded guilty to grand larceny and tax fraud, and now faces somewhere between three and ten years in jail, leaving several of the Stevens’s defrauded customers wondering if anything was going to be done about the lost wedding and party deposits. In a side deal, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s office says some 73 couples who paid the Dumbo venue and have submitted complaints will get their money back, and Stevens hopes the return of more than a million dollars in pilfered funds will help mitigate the fraud charges he now faces.
