In what may be the most efficient restaurant relocation ever, the hulking outpost of the Benihana-owned sushi and sashimi chainlet at 43rd Street near Broadway closed down after service on Saturday, but its replacement at 229 West 43rd Street opens up tomorrow, a mere 200 feet up the street, in the old New York Times building. The new spot looks just as fabulous as the old one, if not more so, and the old sushi counter was auctioned off earlier today. [Amodeo]
