Over in Chicago, it looks a lot like Nick Kokonas and Grant Achatz have signed a lease on the West Fulton Market space that was last home to chef Homaro Cantu’s Ing, which closed abruptly at the end of last month. Appropriately enough, the space is next door to Next and the restaurateurs’ innovative bar Aviary, and is otherwise situated in what a real-estate professional unconnected to the deal has dubbed the “hottest restaurant neighborhood in the country.” Last week, Achatz and his culinary team described a new project to Eater, which they said would be ready in “February or March” of 2015; the acclaimed chef is also planning to cook in New York this October.
