Come September, British chef Gordon Ramsay will have added another restaurant to his global empire when Bread Street Kitchen opens in the Hotel LKF in Hong Kong, near to where Jamie Oliver is expected to open an “incredible” branch of his chain Jamie’s Italian next month. Bread Street Kitchen, which serves “British European” food, is part of a “consultancy and licensing arrangement” that likely means more Ramsay properties down the line, and while reps are unsure of whether he’ll attend the opening, don’t expect to see Oliver behind the line at his new place. The Naked Chef apparently long ago decided it’s better to not show up for his openings “as he felt his appearance would detract from the work of the team that opened the venue,” the South China Morning Post reports. On the plus side, maybe, Oliver has a new show coming out in Canada called Pressure Cooker, in which home cooks pair up with “celebrity chefs,” select ingredients off a moving conveyor belt, then compete. Reps tell The Hollywood Reporter to expect “ample brand integration,” in case you had any doubt about what to expect. [SCMP, THR, Related]
