If its limited-edition “Schweddy Balls” flavor was any indication, ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s is sort of adept at making flavors tied in to Saturday Night Live, so in honor of the show’s 40th anniversary, they’ve concocted four Scoop Shop flavors (so no pint do-ups, sadly) based on sketches and shorts. Kristen Wiig gets a nod with Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch is chocolate and sweet cream ice creams, caramel clusters, fudge-covered almonds, and marshmallow swirl, and Lazy Sunday, best eaten during The Chronic — what! — cles of Narnia, is Lonely Island–influenced vanilla cake batter ice cream, requisite cupcake pieces, and chocolate frosting swirls. Gotta hand it to them; they definitely know their consumer base. [Official site]
