A lot of culinary big guns and World’s 50 Best list types will head to NYC in October for the StarChefs International Chefs Congress. The event is the industry magazine’s ninth annual go, and the home-team chefs currently slated to present and lead demos for their peers include Toro’s Jamie Bissonnette, Michael White, Dan Barber, George Mendes, and Marcus Samuelsson. Enrique Olvera, the Mexico City chef whose Flatiron restaurant Cosme is opening this spring, will be there, as will Juan Roca of El Celler de Can Roca, who’s headed to New York around the same time with much of his restaurant staff in tow. For whatever it’s worth, put those two together with a rare appearance from Yoshihiro Narisawa of Les Creations de Narisawa in Tokyo, and you’ve got the guys from the No. 20, No. 2, and No. 14 spots on this year’s S. Pellegrino list in the house. More information on the trade-only event, which takes place October 26-28, can be found here. [StarChefs, Related]
