Say good-bye to fried broccoli and pork rillettes on English muffin bread, at least for now: The cozy, intimate Allen Street restaurant Sorella, which co-owners Emma Hearst and Sarah Krathen opened in December 2008 with a menu of regional Italian pastas and a selection of wines from Piedmont, will close after service on Saturday. Hearst stepped down from her position as the restaurant’s executive chef in the fall of 2012, but remained active behind the scenes; last fall, the proprietors published a cookbook. The Lo-Down reports that an email circulated to Sorella’s supporters says that “no drama” led to the decision to shutter the restaurant, and Hearst and Krathen even add that they may reopen, possibly with a new, similarly sisterly project, just not at 95 Allen Street.
