Things are getting a little less regal and a little more boho for King & Grove owner Ed Scheetz, who announced last summer that his high-end hotel company had become the sole owner of the Hotel Chelsea. The iconic hotel’s name will from here on out be used to brand its other properties, and there’s more: Williamsburg’s King & Grove, home to the Elm, Paul Liebrandt’s restaurant, will now be called McCarren Hotel & Pool, while its Manhattan hotel, where Danny Meyer’s restaurant group will open a wood-fired pizzeria called Marta, will go by the Martha Washington, its previous name. The Chelsea Hotels’ Hotel Chelsea, as it were, will “reopen as an upscale boutique” property next year. [NYDN, Related]
