When a very dumb customer review appeared on UrbanSpoon imploring management at the Morgantown, West Virginia, restaurant Atomic Grill to get its servers to “show more skin,” owner Daniel McCawley first got angry. “It was brutish. I was upset. I’m a father of a 12-year-old girl and I’ve got five sisters,” he said. But then he came up with the idea of adding a new item to his homey menu of things like fried green tomato po’ boys and hamburgers served with ghost chile salsa, one that would fulfill the customers requests. From now through Labor Day, the Atomic Grill is selling a huge plate of fully loaded potato skins, at $7 per order, with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to the West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information Services. McCawley says the support for all the “skins” has been “tremendous.” In the meantime, the offensive UrbanSpoon review has since been deleted. [Opposing Views]
