The World’s 50 Best organization announced today that St. John’s Fergus Henderson is this year’s recipient of its Lifetime Achievement Award. The most surprising part of today’s news: that Henderson hasn’t already won the award.
The chef, of course, is synonymous with the nose-to-tail movement (his books, paragons of the form, are basically the go-to guides). On its official site, the 50 Best crew writes, “Henderson’s legacy hasn’t been confined to the style of cooking he has championed … he has done more to raise the profile of British food overseas than any other chef in recent history.”
