Very important ice cream news: On Tuesday, Bubby’s High Line launches an all-American soda fountain, complete with create-your-own sundaes, shakes, and malts. All of the syrups, sodas, and ice creams will be made from scratch — the base of the ice cream is comprised of Hudson Valley milk, cream, and Breyer’s eggs — and the only exception is Intelligentsia coffee, which is used for the base of the coffee soda. You can choose between 15 different toppings (like gingersnap crumbs, crushed Thin Mints, and toasted marshmallow), and 15 syrups (including root beer, currant sour, ginger). Even better: On opening day, Bubby’s will give away free ice cream sodas and sundaes from 2 to 6 p.m.
