Sony Pictures wants to put an end to the Ricky Bobby Sports Saloon and Restaurant: The studio owns the rights to the 2006 Will Ferrell movie Talladega Nights and says the restaurant, located near the Texas Motor Speedway, is illegally profiting off unauthorized use of the film’s characters and quotes. Sony has reportedly asked for an injunction, as well as the restaurant’s profits, forfeiture of web domain names, and unspecified punitive and exemplary damages. (The full lawsuit can be read here.) As for the restaurant itself, which is owned by Rick’s Cabaret International, patrons can enjoy cotton-candy snow-cone shots brought by waitresses known as “Smokin’ Hotties.” [Hollywood Reporter]
