We already knew the former music-video network was mashing up Top Chef and the Real World by cramming eight strangers in a posh-looking house and making them cook/compete for an “apprenticeship of a lifetime” in Los Angeles. What we didn’t know, or at least expect, is that there would be so much crying in House of Food, which premieres at the end of the month. But here it is, a lot of finger-pointing and teardrops galore in the first trailer. And, in addition to the normal amount of stuff you’d expect from an reality show (stripper poles, clinking wine glasses) this one’s also got cole-slaw flinging, pasta-machine malfunctioning, and what looks to be a good amount of undercooked beef.
MTV’s House of Food premieres March 31 at 10 p.m.
