It’s unclear when the temporary closure will begin, exactly, but the wine shop component of Eataly will soon go dark for a short time as a result of a settlement reached yesterday between the Batali-Bastianich group and the State Liquor Authority. Lidia Bastianich will be removed from the store’s liquor license, and the group has agreed to pay a $500,000 fine. The agency initiated action against Eataly after it said principals had “suppressed information” about the alleged connections between production and wholesale divisions. [Crain’s, Earlier]
