Expansion-minded entrepreneur Jason Wang will open the eighth Xi’an Famous Foods this summer, at 328 East 78th Street on the Upper East Side. “We listen to where our fans want us to go,” he tells Serious Eats, which notes Xi’an Famous Foods’ East Village location will close next month for a renovations, but will reopen with more seats. Wang also lets DNAInfo know that he’s scouting real estate in Brooklyn for a second shop in the borough, and says beyond that, there are plans to bring spicy liang pi noodles (along with the rest of Xi’an’s spicy northwestern-Chinese street-food menu) to Washington, D.C. and Boston within the next five years.
