A relatively soft-spoken Gordon Ramsay appeared on Norwegian talk show Skavlan to discuss vegetarians, obesity, and bad reviews. “I started crying when I lost my stars. It’s a very emotional thing for any chef,” the Kitchen Nightmares and MasterChef Junior host said, regarding the unprecedented loss of Gordon Ramsay at the London’s two Michelin stars last fall. “It’s like losing a girlfriend. You want her back.” Of course, the midtown restaurant may still bear the chef’s name, but, famously, not much of his input: The London formally split with Ramsay in 2009 while continuing to license his name. He may visit now and again to check in, but it’s been a while since he’s picked up so much as a paring knife in that kitchen. Maybe Ramsay’s just feeling sensitive after years of screaming, tabloid-level exploits? [Daily Mail, Related]
