Tyson Ho, the Queens native who whose barbecue odyssey once landed him a stint with North Carolina “pope of barbecue” Ed Mitchell , is opening a massive beer-garden and barbecue complex this summer at 173 Morgan Avenue in Brooklyn, Serious Eats reports. The restaurant, which is an extension of the local pitmaster’s Arrogant Swine project, will open across a combined 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. Whole-hog barbecue will be the house specialty, but Ho says he plans to also bring in a variety of country hams sourced from around the U.S., and ultimately “establish ourselves as a church of pork.” [Serious Eats]
