
We’d heard as much earlier this month, and now Tom Aikens’s partner tells the Standard that the Michelin-starred chef is indeed “in talks with US restaurant groups about informal dining ventures in New York” and elsewhere in the States. Aikens, who was the youngest-ever British chef to be awarded two Michelin stars, is closing his namesake London restaurant at the end of the month in order to focus on expanding his restaurant portfolio in England, as well as opening properties in Turkey and Hong Kong.
