DNAInfo reports that Queens-based street vendor Fares “Freddy” Zeideia is looking to expand his business with the opening of a brick-and-mortar restaurant. King of Falafel and Shawarma won big at the Vendy Awards in 2010, you may remember, taking home the award for “People’s Choice” and the main event’s Vendy Cup. Zeideia doesn’t yet have a location for his restaurant, but he says it’ll likely land in Astoria, where he’ll serve a menu for dine-in, take out, and delivery that’ll include weekly specials and an expanded line of pitas and spreads.
