Jimmy Rodriguez, whose restaurant portfolio once routinely attracted global leaders and rock stars — Adam Platt once dubbed him the “Toots Shor of uptown dining” — is bringing a branch of his New Rochelle–based Don Coqui to City Island. Expect to find the same menu of updated Puerto Rican classics, like pernil and grilled meats, that are served at the Astoria Don Coqui, along with a barrage of fruity rums and colossal cocktails.
