It’s a brave — not to mention hyper-competitive — new world of food delivery out there, and following ambitious forays into Manhattan-wide service by Han Dynasty and Mission Chinese Food, Jason Wang has cautiously begun to make items off the Xi’an Famous Foods menu available for delivery from Tribeca all the way up to 57th Street. Right now, the restaurant will only bring customers cold dishes that travel well, meaning liang pi noodles, buckwheat cold noodles, smashed cucumber salad, and seitan salad. Employees of the ever-expanding northwestern-Chinese-food chainlet aren’t making the rounds today or tomorrow, but anyone in sixteen of Manhattan’s fortysomething zip codes can try it out come Thursday.
