Toby Cecchini and Joel Tompkins are hosting what promises to be an elegant New Year’s Eve tomorrow night at Long Island Bar in Brooklyn. Guest bartenders Katie Stipe (Flatiron Lounge, The Shanty) and Phil Ward (Death & Co., Mayahuel) will pour Champagne and Champagne cocktails from 5:30 p.m. onward. And while Tompkins and Cecchini will begin serving food from the restored restaurant’s kitchen in 2014, tomorrow night they’ve arranged a visit from the Vendy-winning Solber truck, which will be parked outside with plenty of pupusas.
