EV Grieve notices that Beatrice Inn partner Brett Rasinski is named in paperwork submitted in advance of next week’s CB3 Manhattan SLA committee meeting for 302 East 12th Street, home to 105-year-old Italian restaurant John’s of 12th Street. Rasinski has the blessings of the restaurant’s previous owners, who view him as “the fourth generation,” and he e-mails the blog to say that while he’s not ready to reveal any potential changes planned for the old space, he’s “approaching this venture as a preservationist,” pledging that its red-sauce-soaked menu will remain “essentially the same.” [EV Grieve]
