Restaurateur James Gersten has replaced BR Guest Hospitality group founder and CEO Stephen Hanson, reports Nation’s Restaurant News. Gersten, who opened La Esquina in 2005 with partner Derek Sanders, will be in charge of maintaining and growing the group’s brands, including Dos Caminos, Bill’s Bar and Burger, and Blue Water Grill, which generate an estimated $150 million in annual revenue. Last week, rumors abounded that Stephen Hanson had been ousted from the company he founded in 1987. In a statement released over the weekend, the company said its former chief executive was “stepping down to pursue other opportunities.” [Nation’s Restaurant News, Related]
